Residence Halls
Regulations
- Each year fire and life safety improvements are part of the University's projects list for residence halls
- Each residence hall and all of the University Forest Apartment (UFA) blocks are equipped with a state of the art fire detection system that is wired to the central monitoring station at campus police. The fire detection system is monitored 24 hours per day
- All residence halls have multiple means of egress so to minimize the possibility that more than one exit would have the potential to be blocked by any one fire
- Each room in the residence halls and UFA has a system smoke detector
- Fire drills are conducted two times each semester
- Complete safety inspections are conducted two times per year in each residence hall room
- Residential Life staff receive fire safety training
Sprinkler Systems
All residence halls are fully sprinkled. UFA are not sprinkled.
